Alleluia! Christ is Risen!
He is Risen, indeed! Alleluia!
THE Easter Proclamation rings out again. Christians celebrate once more the joy of the Risen Lord. From cathedrals to parish churches to mission chapels, the Gospel of Easter is proclaimed in the hearing of the faithful. In the font of living water, blessed by the Paschal mystery, new Christians are born again. Young and old renew their baptismal vows, receiving at the altar rail the Easter Sacrament of Christ’s most Precious Body and Blood.
Easter is the season of promise and hope. The promise of eternal life in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; the hope of glory in His Resurrection. In the seasons of our lives as Christians, we have our days of joy, our times of hope, the glimpses of glory when the promises of God are so very real. We also have days of sorrow, times of trial, even moments of despair. Those who followed Jesus in the last week of His earthly life experienced all of these moments, these emotions, these ups and downs, as they journeyed with their Lord from Jerusalem to Calvary to the Empty Tomb. Through it all, and in the moments of our own lives, the promise of Jesus rings true: “Do not be afraid, neither be anxious, in the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world!”
Our Lord Jesus Christ not only overcame the things of this fallen world; but restored our relationship with God, defeating death, restoring life. From the shock and horror of the Crucifixion came the glory and joy of the Resurrection. From the grave of death came the empty tomb – and the promise of everlasting life. From the broken pieces of our lives, Christ fashions new life filled with hope and faith. Holy Church is enlivened by the Spirit of the Risen Christ, and we are emboldened to proclaim our faith in the crucified and risen Saviour.
This proclamation of the Christian Faith was evident to me as I visited the Parishes and Missions of the Traditional Anglican Church in Central America last month. The Bishops, Clergy and People made me feel welcome wherever I went. Their faithful witness to the Christian Faith in the Anglican tradition was inspiring as well as humbling. I am very grateful for the opportunity of spending time in prayer and worship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. I also give thanks for the Consecration of Bishop Carlos Enrique Zet Ramirez to serve as Bishop Coadjutor for the Province of the Traditional Anglican Church in Latin America. May our Lord Jesus Christ bless and prosper his episcopal ministry.
As the disciples of Jesus went forth into their world to speak of the Risen Christ, so we too need to go out into our world, to speak of our faith in Jesus. Inviting others to know the love and joy which is ours as Christians and professing members of the Traditional Anglican Church. The call of Christian discipleship is great and not without cost but it is our mission in the world. Let us never fail in our witness nor falter in our resolve to preach Christ risen, ascended and glorified.
May all our Churches, Dioceses, Parishes and Missions across the Traditional Anglican Church be blessed this Easter Season with a faith renewed and an outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit. I extend to all my blessing and prayers for a joyous Eastertide.

¡Aleluya! ¡Cristo ha resucitado!
¡Él ha resucitado! ¡Aleluya!
EL Pregón de Pascua resuena de nuevo. Los cristianos celebran una vez más la alegría del Señor Resucitado. Desde las catedrales hasta las iglesias parroquiales y las capillas de las misiones, el Evangelio de la Pascua se proclama al oído de los fieles. En la fuente de agua viva, bendecida por el misterio pascual, nacen de nuevo cristianos nuevos. Jóvenes y mayores renuevan sus votos bautismales, recibiendo en la baranda del altar el Sacramento Pascual del Preciosísimo Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo.
La Pascua es la temporada de la promesa y la esperanza. La promesa de la vida eterna en la redención del mundo por nuestro Señor Jesucristo; la esperanza de gloria en Su Resurrección. En las temporadas de nuestras vidas como cristianos, tenemos nuestros días de alegría, nuestros tiempos de esperanza, los destellos de gloria cuando las promesas de Dios son tan reales. También tenemos días de tristeza, tiempos de prueba, incluso momentos de desesperación. Aquellos que siguieron a Jesús en la última semana de Su vida terrenal experimentaron todos estos momentos, estas emociones, estos altibajos, mientras viajaban con su Señor desde Jerusalén al Calvario a la Tumba Vacía. A través de todo, y en los momentos de nuestras propias vidas, la promesa de Jesús suena verdadera: “No temáis, ni os afanéis, en el mundo tendréis aflicción; pero tened buen ánimo, ¡yo he vencido al mundo!”
Nuestro Señor Jesucristo no sólo venció las cosas de este mundo caído; sino que restauró nuestra relación con Dios, venciendo la muerte, restaurando la vida. De la conmoción y el horror de la Crucifixión vino la gloria y el gozo de la Resurrección. De la tumba de la muerte vino la tumba vacía y la promesa de la vida eterna. De los pedazos rotos de nuestras vidas, Cristo modela una nueva vida llena de esperanza y fe. La Santa Iglesia está animada por el Espíritu de Cristo Resucitado, y nosotros estamos animados a proclamar nuestra fe en el Salvador crucificado y resucitado.
Esta proclamación de la Fe Cristiana fue evidente para mí cuando visité las Parroquias y Misiones de la Iglesia Anglicana Tradicional en América Central el mes pasado. Los obispos, el clero y el pueblo me hicieron sentir bienvenido dondequiera que iba. Su fiel testimonio de la fe cristiana en la tradición anglicana fue tanto inspirador como aleccionador. Estoy muy agradecido por la oportunidad de pasar tiempo en oración y adoración con nuestros hermanos y hermanas en Cristo. También doy gracias por la Consagración del Obispo Carlos Enrique Zet Ramírez para servir como Obispo Coadjutor de la Provincia de la Iglesia Anglicana Tradicional en América Latina. Que nuestro Señor Jesucristo bendiga y prospere su ministerio episcopal.
Así como los discípulos de Jesús salieron a su mundo para hablar del Cristo Resucitado, nosotros también necesitamos salir a nuestro mundo para hablar de nuestra fe en Jesús. Invitar a otros a conocer el amor y la alegría que es nuestro como cristianos y miembros profesos de la Iglesia Anglicana Tradicional. El llamado al discipulado cristiano es grande y no sin costo pero es nuestra misión en el mundo. Nunca desfallezcamos en nuestro testimonio ni desfallezcamos en nuestra determinación de predicar Cristo resucitado, ascendido y glorificado.
Que todas nuestras Iglesias, Diócesis, Parroquias y Misiones de la Iglesia Anglicana Tradicional sean bendecidas en esta Temporada de Pascua con una fe renovada y un derramamiento del Espíritu Santo de Dios. Extiendo a todos mi bendición y oraciones por una feliz Pascua.
